Descriptions

This vintage styled necklace and earrings can be purchased separately or as a set and is part of The New England Collection representing the state of Connecticut. The necklace features a genuine shell gathered from a beach in New England. In the center of the shell is an iridescent Labradorite stone which is reminiscent of a stormy sea. Click here to see matching bracelet.

While each shell is unique, it will measure around 1" and be very similar to the one in the picture. The pendant hangs on a gun metal satellite chain in 16" or 18" length. I chose gun metal in honor of Samuel Colt, the inventor of the revolver, who made the state a leading manufacturer. The earrings feature antique silver beads with genuine labradorite stones. The grey stones are subtle and occasionally give a gorgeous blue flash.

Labradorite is known as "The Stone of Transformation" helping with mental clarity and anxiety. It also is purported to be good for the respiratory and digestive systems.

Some interesting facts about Connecticut: Since 1764 CT has the oldest continuously published newspaper in the US (The Hartford Courant). CT is also where the first hamburger was invented in 1895 and is still served in New Haven at Louis' Lunch.
